We are speaking with the powerhouse, Dr Brandeis Marshall. She is the Founder and CEO of DataedX Group, author of the book Data Conscience: Algorithmic Siege on our Humanity, and founder of Black Women in Data.

In this episode we talk about her journey and tips for writing a book. We also explore the doom of AI and what can be done about it.

About Dr. Brandeis Marshall

Brandeis Hill Marshall teaches, speaks and writes about the impact of data practices on technology and society. This computer scientist is an accomplished educator-scholar instructing aspiring data professionals to seasoned business leaders and leading federally funded projects. Dr. Marshall is the Founder and CEO of DataedX Group, LLC. DataedX Group provides learning and development training to help educators, scholars and practitioners humanize their data practices by recognizing and mitigating algorithmic harms. Her first book, Data Conscience: Algorithmic Siege on our Humanity, was released in September 2022. It unearths the interlocking computational and civic implications of data on digital processes, structures and institutions. She holds a Ph.D. and Master of Science in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Rochester.
